Best Green Initiative

JUDGES COMMENTS
“This is a significant project which will continue to influence the environmental impact of the Sydney Exhibition Centre@Glebe Island operations for several years. A wholly integrated campaign to achieve and surpass the objectives identified up-front. By making transport simple through strong research and planning, Reed Exhibitions Australia and Sydney Exhibition Centre@Glebe Island were able to deliver appropriate and sustainable travel to and from the event.”

Hall of Fame – for Best Green Initiative

Category winner in 2014, 2013 and 2012
PRESIDENT’S COMMENTS: “It’s a sign of great achievement to win a category in three consecutive years. This award recognised the true commitment of Reed to lead the way in sustainable business practice especially as it relates to the ecological footprint of events.”

Most Outstanding Marketing Campaign
Winner: Cake Bake & Sweets Show, National Media
Commended: Cellar Door Wine Festival – Adelaide, Adelaide Convention Centre
JUDGES COMMENTS
Cake Bake & Sweets Show gave at-home bakers and cake decorators a new, industry defining event.
“This is a very successful marketing campaign. Clearly devised, targeted and carried out in a fluid and impressive style. This was an outstanding outcome with nearly 20,000 attendees for a first-time show, and with revenue significantly above target. This new event has clearly touched on a need within a key target market that had not been previously satisfied.”

Best Consumer Show under 10,000 m2
Winner: Dog Lovers Show, Event Management International
JUDGES COMMENTS>
The second Dog Lovers Show in May 2014 welcomed over 20,000 passionate dog lovers to celebrate, interact and learn more about their best friends.
“The impressive planning and targeting of the show, along with thorough evaluation of visitors and exhibitors, produced a highly successful event. This show concept is brilliantly simple and attracts highly emotive attendees who are willing to spend. It benchmarked the second show very well against the inaugural event and introduced new initiatives that would attract new as well as returning visitors. The Corporate Social Responsibility initiative – giving back to the welfare of dogs – this was commendable. A 30% increase in attendance rates from previous years and a 35% increase in exhibition numbers, illustrates the show has found its mark.”

Best Trade Show under 10,000 m2
Winner: Security Exhibition & Conference, Diversified Communications Australia
Commended: Irrigation Australia Exhibition, Exhibitions & Trade Fairs
JUDGE’S COMMENTS
The Security Exhibition & Conference is the premiere industry event for manufacturers, security professionals, and end-users in Australasia.
“The conference was the only one in its category to clearly link the results of visitor evaluations with actions undertaken to improve the visitor experience. With statistics such as ‘100% sold out during re-signs from the 2013 show into the 2014 show,’ the results speak for themselves. A lot of planning went into marketing and Diversified Communications should be congratulated on the marketing campaign.”

Best Custom Stand
Winner: Cisco Stand at Cisco Live, Exhibit Systems
Commended: Hafele Australia Stand at AWISA, by DisplayWise
JUDGES COMMENTS
“This is a really functional and well-designed stand that still manages to shoehorn some creativity into the design within tight branding parameters. Well written and described - the best presented submission. 3D concept rendering was realised seamlessly – great planning, execution and project management.”

Best Show Team
Winner: National 4 X 4 Outdoor Show & Fishing and Boating Expo – Melbourne Exhibitions & Trade Fairs
JUDGES COMMENTS
The National 4x4 Outdoors Show has been Victoria’s leading event for the 4WD industry and fans of the great Australian outdoors. It brings together more than 230 exhibitors over 34,000 square metres.
“This team pulled out all stops to reinvent a long standing successful event and freshen the experience for attendees. With indoor and outdoor elements, this show was clearly quite the project to tackle and the team seemed to manage it with ease and come out the other side with a more profitable and bigger show than the previous year.”

Best New Show
Winner: Canterbury buildnz | designex, XPO Exhibitions
JUDGES COMMENTS
“This was a good concept for a city facing enormous challenges. It was a great proposition for stimulating long-term sustainable build of brown and green sites. An extensive and diverse suite of creative and targeted marketing activities was implemented and included partnerships with industry leaders and niche networking events. Clear quantitative survey results demonstrated that both exhibitors and visitors were impressed with the show and that it addressed their needs. It had an innovative marketing plan to reach as many stakeholders as possible.”
